Five appear in Middlesbrough court charged with murder

Five men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 27-year-old man.

Steven John Willis died following an incident on Meadowcroft Drive in Normanby, Middlesbrough, on Monday evening.

Two other men were left injured.Dominic Pickering, 22, Mark Pickering, 32, Jack Cross, 21, Jahmal Weaver, 21 and Kieran Ibitson, 20, appeared in the dock at Teesside Magistrates Court this morning charged with Steven's murder.

The defendants were also charged with two counts of wounding with intent.

They spoke only to confirm their name, age and address.

Dominic Pickering, of Grinkle Avenue, Middlesbrough, Mark Pickering, of Greenham Close, Middlesbrough, Cross, of Olney Walk, Middlesbrough, Weaver, of Rounton Green, Middlesbrough and Ibitson, Beresford Cresecent, Middlesbrough, were remanded in custody.

They will appear at Teesside Crown Court tomorrow.

* A sixth person has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder.

Cleveland Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender in relation to the death of Steven John Willis in Normanby. He remains in custody.
