A Wearside man who lost his mum to cancer has set up a cookery school to help people with the disease enjoy food again

Life Kitchen class in London

Ryan Riley from Washington was just a teenager when his mum was diagnosed with cancer.

One of the hardest parts of her illness he says was watching her struggle to taste her favourite foods, a common side effect of cancer treatment.

Following her death 24-year-old Ryan had an idea to set up Life Kitchen, a specialist cookery school for people living with cancer.

He moved to London and with the support of some of the culinary worlds biggest names that idea has now become a reality.
