Today marks the 20th anniversary since The Angel of the North arrived on Tyneside.

Since then, it has become an iconic landmark on Gateshead's skyline.

Standing at 20-metres tall, the monument is as high as four double decker buses.

The Angel's 54-metre wingspan is almost the same as a Jumbo jet.

But at its unveiling, the now much-loved sculpture was criticised by many, for not 'looking like an angel'.
