Midnight fireworks return to Newcastle-Gateshead quayside for New Year

Newcastle-Gateshead Initiative in partnership with NE1 has announced the return of the New Year’s Eve midnight fireworks on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.

Back by popular demand, the celebrations will welcome in 2018 with a bang as the fireworks light up the Tyne and provide a dramatic backdrop for Newcastle-Gateshead’s seven bridges and impressive architecture.

The event will be free and un-ticketed, with night owls invited to head down to the Quayside at the stroke of midnight to herald in the New Year in spectacular style.

The display is free and the midnight celebrations follow East of the Sun, West of the Moon, a family event on Newcastle’s Town Moor earlier that evening from 4pm-6pm.
