A tree from Kielder Forest has taken centre stage outside the Houses of Parliament.

It was felled in Northumberland on Wednesday before being carefully transported down to the capital.

This year's tree is a 25-year-old Sitka spruce, chosen because it is more robust than the traditional Norway spruce.
