A judge has told a Kuwaiti rapist 'I hope you get deported' after heviolently attacked a vulnerable woman and referred to England as a 'bitch country'.

Abdel-Aziz Al-Shamary, who told police he was Saddam Hussein after beingarrested for the rape, has been jailed for 12 years.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the Kuwaiti national punched the victimtwice in the face before dragging her into a riverbank and raping her in May 16 just weeks after he had been granted legal status in the UK.

The victim had been drinking in the Greyhound pub in Darlington, CountyDurham, before being pursued down St Cuthberts way by the 21-year-old.

The court heard how the defendant had downed two bottles of strong spiritsand done an Internet search for 'outdoor sex' before the late-night attack.

Prosecutor Paul Abrahams said: “The defendant decided to follow thecomplainant. We say he was pestering her for 19 minutes.

“There is no evidence that the complainant wanted to be in the company ofthe defendant.

“He left briefly in the opposite direction.

“He then ran back towards her and assaulted her by punching her twice theface. The defendant dragged her to the floor.”

The court heard that he raped the victim on the ground before making offand leaving her bloodied and injured.

But police managed to catch up with him after he was tracked through CCTV and two witnesses.

Mr Abrahams added: “He refused to speak to woman police officers saying he would only speak to men. He then called the United Kingdom a ‘bitchcountry’.

“In the investigation a low level of DNA was found in his underwear thatlinked him to the victim.

“Following conviction it would appear that the defendant had taken a selfiephotograph in the area the day previous from where this attack took place.”

In police custody he had been heard to yell: 'Do you know Saddam Hussein? Iam Saddam Hussein, I will not talk to you, you are a woman.'

The court was read the victim’s personal statement, in which she said: “Asa result of the attack upon me I get very upset and it makes me cry.

“The thought of the attack makes me feel very unclean and I feel like Ican’t get the thought or the feeling of this man off me and my body.”

Al-Shamary, of Pensbury Street, Darlington, admitted assault occasioningactual bodily harm and was found guilty of rape after a trial.

John Turner, defending, said that A-Shamary’s family spent all of theirmoney to send him over to the UK.

He added: “When he returns to Kuwait he has a family to return to.

“But he will return to an uncertain future.”

Judge Sean Morris jailed Al-Shamary for 12 years and he must sign the sexoffenders register for life.

He said: “It is quite clear that you had a sheltered upbringing in aBedouin family with very little contact with the opposite sex.

“The idea of having sex outdoors thrilled you as you can see from yourpornographic downloads on your phone.

“It is quite clear to me that you have a problem with females and youregard them as lesser beings.

“I am of the view that this was as much about degradation and humiliationas it was about sexual pleasure.

“You terrified her into submission.

“You were convicted on the convincing and palpably honest evidence of abrave young woman.

“She is still crying every night and living every day with this burden inher mind.

“I sincerely hope that you will be deported at the half way point.”
