Two men rescued from River Wear after fishing boat theft
Two men have been rescued from the River Wear after a fishing vessel was stolen at 6.45pm on November 2.
The boat was reported stolen by its owner before it was later crashed into another vessel near Sunderland Fish Quay.
RNLI volunteers kept one man afloat. A second man jumped into the river in an attempt to swim ashore.
Once safely at Sunderland Marina, the two men were treated by RNLI volunteers and paramedics before being taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
