Disruption at Kirby Misperton as man climbs on top of lorry

A man has climbed onto a lorry on Kirby Misperton Road, causing major disruption on the A169.

The road is currently blocked and there is major traffic disruption on the A169 between Malton and Pickering.

Police have put a contraflow system in place, so traffic is able to pass the lorry. Diversion signs are being put in place.

However, the man on the lorry has told officers he plans to stay there until he is removed, so motorists should expect delays in the area.

It follows a long running campaign by some protestors to stop any potential fracking at the site.
