County Durham boy, 16, charged with London murder
A boy, aged 16, has appeared in court charged with murdering a man at a London tube station.
Omid Saidy, 20, was killed outside Parsons Green station on Monday.
The teenager, who cannot be named, is from Shildon, County Durham.
He has also been charged with threatening another man with a knife.
The 16-year-old appeared in custody at Wimbledon Youth Court on Thursday.
The teenager, from Shildon, was also injured during the attack and was arrested after being discharged from hospital.
He appeared in the dock wearing a grey tracksuit and spoke only to confirm his details during the short hearing.
He was remanded in custody and ordered to appear at the Old Bailey on October 23rd.
The boy's stepfather sat in the back of the court.
Omid Saidy, from Fulham, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.30pm on Monday.
Scotland Yard said he was killed after he confronted a drug dealer and another male who was with him.
Detectives believe Mr Saidy chased the pair and was fatally stabbed when he caught up to them.
