Renewed appeal over death of Guisborough teenager Sonny Stephenson
Police investigating the death of Sonny Stephenson in Guisborough have released details of a car they want to trace as part of the enquiry.
The 17-year-old died in a crash at the junction of Bolckow Street and Hollymead Drive just before 9.30pm on 27 August.
His pillion passenger, aged 15, was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Cleveland Police say they are now keen to identify the driver and any passengers of a red pick-up which drove up Park Lane towards Bolckow Street and which was travelling just in front of the motorcycle ridden by Sonny.
The CCTV image (above) shows this vehicle approaching the junction of Park lane and Hollymead Drive at around 9.15pm that Sunday .
The police say they want to establish if the driver or any passengers saw or heard anything of note as they approached the location of the incident.
Matthew Philip Buckworth, 34, of Charlton Garth, in Guisborough, has been charged with Sonny's murder.
