Darlington schoolboy wins national competition to design lego model at Legoland
A schoolboy from Darlington has won a national competition to design a lego model, which has been unveiled at Legoland.
11-year-old James Waine beat hundreds of other children to design a model which was built at the entrance of the Castle Hotel, a new attraction which opened at the resort today.
Lego model-makers spent 360 hours using 160,000 bricks to bring James' design to life.
James got to place the final brick himself, which had his name engraved on the side.
He said winning was a "dream come true".
