'Lewis' actor Kevin Whately to join 2017 cast of Kynren

Kevin Whately, the Hexham-born actor well known for his roles in 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' and 'Inspector Morse', has been announced to join the cast for 2017's performance of Kynren.

‘Kynren – an epic tale of England’ is a huge outdoor show which took place in Bishop Auckland last summer.

It saw more than 100,000 people visit Bishop Auckland in County Durham and organisers say this year's performance will be ‘Bigger, Better and Brighter’.

Eleven Arches, the production company behind the open-air spectacular, have announced Kevin will play the role of Old Arthur – a key character who sets the scene for the epic journey through 2,000 years of British history, myth and legend.
