Police treating Tuxedo Royale fire as suspicious
Cleveland Police say they're treating a fire which broke out on a former Newcastle party boat as suspicious.
Fire services were called around on Wednesday 31 May to reports of a fire on the Tuxedo Royale.
Investigations are underway to determine exactly what happened but police have confirmed they are treating it as suspicious.
The floating nightclub, which was originally moored on the Tyne, caught fire around 7pm on Wednesday evening.
Since 2006 the ship has spent her retirement in a dockyard on Teesside.
It was here that the fire broke out.
Eight appliances were sent to the Middlesbrough site to tackle the blaze.
