Bradley Lowery leads out Sunderland at their last home game
Bradley Lowery's fight against rare cancer neuroblastoma took centre-stage at the Stadium of Light for Sunderland's last home game.
A banner reading "There's only one Bradley Lowery" was unfurled in the South Stand as the clock ticked past the five-minute mark and a plane carrying the message "United by cancer, divided by leagues" which had been arranged by some Newcastle fans flew overhead.
Bradley was carried out onto the pitch by his favourite player Jermaine Defoe who has visited the 5-year-old in hospital. On the back of his shrt a message read 'Thank you SAFC and fans.'
Earlier this week his mother Gemma shared the news that Bradley's cancer had progressed.
All proceeds from the sale of Saturday's match programme will be donated to Bradley’s Fight, the charitable fund set up by the Lowery family.
