WATCH: York Minster bells ring out on Easter Sunday
The bells of York Minster have rung out on Easter Sunday with the help of a group of volunteers
The bells fell silent in October 2016 due to a 'safeguarding decision'. The Minster Chapter also dismissed its 30-strong team of bell ringers.
However, a number of volunteers offered their services to mark one of the biggest days in the Christian calendar.
A new Head of Bell Tower has now been recruited. Once in position, that person will look to recruit and train a new team.
Members of the dismissed team will be able to apply to join.
Since the sackings the bells have remained silent on all but four occasions.
