South Shields managers prepare for Wembley win
The joint managers of South Shields FC say their aim now is to win the FA Vase final at Wembley in May, when they will face Cleethorpes Town.
The Mariners secured their place after a resounding 4-0 (6-1 on aggregate) win against Coleshill Town in the semi-final second leg.
They entered the home game with a slender advantage after securing a 2-1 win in the first leg.
In front of a record crowd of 3464, the squad's 36 year old Captain, former Sunderland and Middlesbrough favourite, Julio Arca, was first to score.
The goal towards the end of the first half secured his first trip to Wembley.
Three more goals followed in the second half thanks to Gavin Cogdon, Carl Finnigan and David Foley.
Some fans couldn't contain their excitement when the final whistle was blown and raced onto the pitch at Mariners Park to congratulate their heroes.
The victory marks South Shields FC's twenty fourth win in a row and joint managers, Graham Fenton and Lee Picton say their ambition now is to bring the FA Vase trophy home.
