The mother of Claudia Lawrence is hoping an emotional visit to her daughter's home will encourage someone with any information to come forward.

It's eight years since Claudia disappeared after leaving her shift as a chef at York University on March 18th 2009.

Despite scaling back the investigation, North Yorkshire Police said the case will not be closed until those responsible for Claudia’s disappearance are brought to justice.

Miss Lawrence, 35, went missing in March 2009.

Detectives say that unless one outstanding line of enquiry provides a breakthrough in the case, they will only look into any "new and compelling" information.
