The man found guilty of the murder of Helen Bailey has been told he will likely "end his days behind bars".

Ian Stewart sedated the Electra Brown writer and dragged her body into a cesspit last year, before then calling the police four days later to report the Northumberland born author missing.

She was found beneath their garage three months after she abruptly disappeared in April last year.

The former software engineer, wearing a light blue shirt and jeans, showed no emotion as he was found guilty by a jury of seven men and five women of murder, fraud, preventing a lawful burial and three counts of perverting the course of justice.

Ian Stewart will be sentenced on Thursday.
