Sunderland Football Club confirm a "reduction of the club's workforce"

Sunderland Football Club have confirmed plans to reduce "the club's workforce".

The Black Cats say organisational changes will see roles within the organisation consolidated following a realignment of the clubs organisational structure.

Staff affected have been informed but at this stage the number of posts impacted by this news is unclear.

The news comes ahead of Sunderland's trip to Everton on Saturday. The Black Cats are currently bottom of the Premier League, two points from safety.
