Moyes pleased with Spurs point
David Moyes feels Sunderland could use their 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur to turn a corner in their season.
The Black Cats still remain 19th in the relegation zone but Moyes looked to the positives achieved from Tuesday night's stalemate.
New signings Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo from Everton were ineligible to play against Spurs while Joleon Lescott had to settle for a place on the bench. The Scotsman failed to recruit an additional striker to Wearside before the transfer window closed - despite the long-term loss of Victor Anichebe through injury.
Sunderland had submitted a third bid of £7.5m for Leonardo Ulloa but it wasn't enough to lure the striker away from the King Power stadium.
Moyes will look use their team spirit shown against Spurs as the benchmark for their remaining games at home and away. The former Everton manager wants to instil the same toughness and winning mentality that led to Sunderland's Premier League survival last season.
Tuesday's draw against Spurs saw the return of Didier N'dong and Lamine Kone from the African Cup of Nations competition. Moyes welcomed back 'refreshed' performances back in action at the Stadium of Light.
