Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has signed for Rangers FC for £250,000.

The 6'2 stopper has penned a three and half year deal at the Glasgow based team.

Alnwick arrival will see him play alongside former Magpies player James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn previously of Sunderland AFC.

The 23-year-old started off his career at Sunderland before moving Newcastle United. Alnwick made his first-team debut for the Magpies under then manager Alan Pardew as a substitute for the injured Rob Elliot in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at St James Park.

Alnwick has been capped at England at under-17 and under-18 level and was named in the squad for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
