Tiote heading to China in permanent deal
Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is set to complete his move to Chinese club Shandong Luneng.
The Ivorian international will complete a two-year-deal after spending six and half years on Tyneside.
The 30-year-old has only played three times for Newcastle this season with his last game coming in their 3-1 win against Birmingham City in the FA Cup.
Tiote had a proposed move to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua fall through in January 2016. Tiote will be reunited with former Magpies striker Papiss Cisse.
Tiote joined Newcastle United from Dutch side FC Twente in 2010 under then manager Alan Pardew. Tiote then went onto make 156 appearances scoring one goal for the club.
