South African batsman signs for Durham CCC

Durham CCC have announced the signing of South African batsman Stephen Cook, subject to CSA clearance.

The 34-year-old will feature from the beginning of the season until Durham's floodlit Specsavers County Championship match against Worcestershire.

Cook joins the club as an overseas signing and should be included in South Africa's squad to face England in their two match test series this summer.

Durham will start the season with a 48 point deduction after undergoing financial issues which resulted in their relegation from Division One of the County Championship.
