Perez: I'm ready to fill Gayle's boots
Ayoze Perez has said he is ready to fill the void left by Dwight Gayle if he is to be called upon.
The Spanish frontman assisted Dwight Gayle for Newcastle United's opener against Brentford before Gayle limped off with an injury. Perez insists he's more than ready to lead from the front during Gayle's absence if needed.
Newcastle's win against Brentford took them back to the top of the Championship ahead of title contenders Brighton. Perez remains confident that the Magpies are equipped to battle their way out of the division.
