North East pop stars nominated for Brit Awards

X Factor winners James Arthur and Little Mix are among the artists from the North East nominated for Best British Single at the Brit Awards.

Little Mix, made up of Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall from South Shields, along with Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, are nominated for their number one hit "Shout Out to My Ex".

Arthur, from Saltburn, found his musical form again last year with "Say You Won't Let Go".

Little Mix are also among the acts performing at the ceremony at The O2 in London on February 22.
