Cat's Halloween outfit conceals horrific injuries
An RSPCA investigation is underway after a cat was found with open wounds that had been covered by a strange Halloween sweater.
The black tom cat had three large cuts on his back, and the black-and-orange fabric, printed with bats, had stuck to the wounds.
He was found in High Spen, Rowlands Gill by a member of the public who immediately called the charity.
The animal is not microchipped so the charity has no way to trace his owner.
They are hoping that someone will recognise the cat and know who he belongs to.
Anyone with information can leave a message for RSPCA inspector Tony Jackman by calling the appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
