Revealed: The ITV Tyne Tees Fundraiser of the Year
This is the moment the mum Julie Young is told she has been named as the ITV Tyne Tees Fundraiser of the Year.
Presenter Ian Payne surprised an emotional Julie with the award at her Stockton home.
Julie set up Reagan Jack Rainbows charity in memory of her 15-year-old son, Reagan, who died in January 2015.
The youngster needed round-the-clock-care after he was left brain damaged from a heart attack when he was just nine-months old.
Over the course of a week, ITV Tyne Tees looked at the stories of four very different fundraisers, but judges deemed Julie to be our winner.
Our judging panel was led by Sir Gary Verity, who brought the Tour de France here, and now the Road World Cycling Championships for 2019.
Of Julie he said he was impressed how she turned the tragedy of her son's death into a positive that many other families can benefit from.
Julie will heading off to attend Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards in London at the end of the month - and the ceremony will be shown here on ITV.
