Police give teenager dressing down over scary clown prank

A teenager has been given an official warning by police after dressing as a scary clown and scaring passers-by.

The 13-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday in Blakelaw, Newcastle, and he taken into custody by officers who also seized a knife he had been carrying as part of the fancy dress costume.

The youngster was given a warning about his behaviour.

Police said officers will continue regular patrols in the coming days and weeks in the areas where the incidents have taken place.

They also urged parents to know where their children are and keep an eye on any unusual behaviour.
