Teesside's James Arthur narrowly misses out on number one
Former X Factor winner James Arthur narrowly missed out on the top spot in the singles chart as The Chainsmokers held on to the number one position for a fourth week.
Closer, the collaboration between US duo The Chainsmokers and singer Halsey, remained in top spot on the Official Singles Chart after fending off competition from Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go, which rose from 25th to second.
The track is the lead single from Arthur's upcoming sophomore album Back From The Edge and was the most downloaded of the week, with just under 40,000 snapping it up.
The singer from Saltburn also got to number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 chart (based on iTunes) last week.
