Paralysed Claire Lomas reaches halfway point of GNR
A woman paralysed from the waist down has reached the halfway point of her challenge to walk the Great North Run in a special suit.
Claire Lomas was paralysed from the chest down after a riding accident in 2007, but five years later became the first person to complete a marathon wearing the revolutionary ReWalk bionic suit when she took 17 days to complete the London Marathon.
If successful, Claire plans to cross the finish line of the Great North Run in South Shields at 10am on Sunday morning.
