York Central MP Rachael Maskell says the government's plans for new flood defences in the North of England aren't considered enough.

December's floods inflicted misery on parts of the region and, in places such as York, flood defences failed.

Thousands of people were forced from their homes over the Christmas period, with some residents still not able to return.£12.5 million pounds will be spent on temporary defences such as barriers and high-volume water pumps.
