Amy Tinkler basks in hometown pride

Despite the rain, nothing can dampen the spirits of residents of Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor as they've come out to cheer for Amy Tinkler during her homecoming parade.

The 16-year-old athlete became Britain's youngest medallist in 32 years when she won a bronze in Rio.

Amy also became the first British woman ever to win an Olympic medal in the gymnastics floor exercise.

After an emotional homecoming in August both at her Bishop Auckland home and then theSpennymoor gym where she trains, the open top parade has been organised by Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor town councils.And despite the rain fans, friends and families came out to show their support for their Olympic hero.

The tour finishes at 2pm with an after party at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.
