Amy Tinkler's open-top bus parade route revealed
Details of an open-bus top parade to celebrate Olympic hero Amy Tinkler have been released.
The 16-year-old athlete became Britain's youngest medallist in 32 years when she won a bronze in Rio.
Amy also became the first British woman ever to win an Olympic medal in the gymnastics floor exercise.
After an emotional homecoming in August both at her Bishop Auckland home and then the Spennymoor gym where she trains, an open top parade has been organised by Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor town councils.
The parade will take place on Saturday September 3 starting at Bishop Auckland and ending at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.
Councillor Ann Golightly, Mayor of Bishop Auckland: "We're abosultely thrilled about Amy's success at the Rio Olympics.
"It is fitting that the town has an opportunity to congratulate Amy. We are working alongside Spennymoor Town Council to hold a victory parade that incorporates her home town of Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor where she trains."
