Port of Tyne sees record passenger ship arrivals
A record number of five passenger ships in one day have visited the Port of Tyne.
Holland America Line's Koningsdam, the largest cruise ship ever to dock at North Shields at a length of 297.2 metres, was among the vessels carrying a combined total of more than ten thousand passengers through the terminal.
German-operated Aida Vita was followed by the arrival of Seven Seas Voyager, Koningsdam, the DFDS King Seaways and Astor.
The combined length of all five vessels is 1,043.90 metres (3,424.86 feet).
