Rare Norman Cornish sketches go on display

An exhibition has opened displaying rare family sketches and paintings by the artist Norman Cornish.

Famed for capturing life in historic North East mining villages, the new display shows personal pictures drawn around his home, in the 1950s and 1960s.

The exhibition, in The Garden Rooms at Tennants Auctioneers, in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, runs until August 28.
