Father and son hit by car in County Durham
A two year old boy and his father were injured in an incident in Willington on the afternoon of July 30. It happened on the High Street at around 4.10pm.
The boy ran into the road from a nearby cafe and his father was injured when he tried to pull his son to safety.
Both were hit by a white Toyota Aygo car which was travelling along High Street.
The air ambulance took the young boy to the RVI in Newcastle. The father and son have not suffered life-threatening injuries. The toddler has a broken collarbone and is expected to be released from hospital either today or tomorrow, his father was bruised but otherwise unhurt.
Durham Constabulary is appealing for witnesses. Anybody with any information is requested to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
