The funeral of a Catterick based soldier who died after a training exercise takes place on Thursday.

Corporal Josh Hoole died in the Brecon Beacons area of Wales last week after a two-hour march with the Rifles Regiment, on what was the hottest day of the year.

Before his funeral in Dumfries, a piper will lead the hearse through Ecclefechan High Street from quarter past one.

Cpl Hoole's relatives are encouraging local people to line the streets to pay their respects.

Meanwhile Dyfed Powys Police said investigations into his death was continuing and specialist officers were continuing to support his family.
