Middlesbrough have announced the signing of Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo on a season-long loan.

The 30-year-old has now linked up with his new teammates at the club's pre-season training camp in Marbella and will officially become a Boro player once all the paperwork is complete.

The Spanish international brings a wealth of experience to the Premier League new boys, having scored 112 goals in 264 appearances in La Liga.

Negredo has also previously spent one season in the Premier League with Manchester City after joining them for £16.4m from Sevilla in 2013. The forward scored 23 goals in 48 appearances for City, including a hat-trick in the Champions League against CSKA Moscow.
