Police identify body recovered from River Ouse

North Yorkshire Police have named a man whose body was recovered from the River Ouse at the weekend.

An inquest into the death of Christian Scott Palmer, aged 20, from the Rufforth area of York, is due to open on Tuesday July 19.

He fell into the river from above the middle arch on Ouse Bridge at around 3.15am on Sunday July 10.

Officers from the Northumbria Police Marine Unit located the body near to Ouse Bridge later that afternoon.
