Opening night for epic show in Bishop Auckland

An epic live action show, involving hundreds of volunteers, is set for its opening night in Bishop Auckland.

Kynren brings to life 2,000 years of English history in ninety minutes, taking audiences from Roman times to the Second World War, with a special focus on the North East.

It's hoped the show will bring a major boost to the local economy, as well as educating people about the past.

The first performance is at 9:30pm this evening (2 July), and the show runs on Saturdays and some Fridays until 17 September.

Organisers Eleven Arches hope revenue from this year's performances will fund another series of shows next year.
