Paralympian Miller wins bronze at European Championships
Paralympian Stephen Miller won a bronze medal at the IPC European Athletics Championships in Italy.
Competing in the F32 Club Throw event, Miller needed to throw a season's best to qualify for a medal and did so with a distance of 30.92 metres to secure third place in Grosetto last week.
The 36-year-old pushed Greece's Nikolaos Gonios into fourth in what was a high quality competition that saw the World Record broken twice and saw every competitor throw either a season's best or personal best.
Miller has competed in all five IPC European Athletics Championships, earning four gold medals, a silver and a bronze. He said:
This summer marks 20 years since Miller won gold at the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta at the age of 16 years and 91 days, becoming the youngest ever track and field gold medallist for Great Britain.
Miller is aiming to compete at his sixth Paralympic Games in Rio this September.
