Sunderland AFC fixtures 2016/17: Black Cats take on Boro in first home game of new season

Sunderland kick off the 2016/17 season with an away trip to Manchester City and Premier League new boss Pep Guardiola before hosting the first North East derby at the Stadium of Light on Saturday August 20.

With Newcastle United relegated to the Championship the Wear-Tees derby is the only derby this season and the match on August 20 will be the first league clash between Sunderland and Middlesbrough since 2009.Here is the list in full:
