Scotsman fans trespass on tracks despite warnings

A number of Flying Scotsman fans endangered their own lives by trespassing onto railway tracks to watch the famous locomotive pass by on its trip from York to Newcastle in May.

Their actions were despite warnings from Network Rail to stay clear from the tracks after 59 services were delayed by trespasserson the Scotsman's inaugural journey from London to York on February 25th.

A British Transport Police helicopter snapped several rail enthusiasts straying onto restricted areas of the line.

British Transport Police have said they will enforce the law where appropriate, and are releasing photographs in order to try and trace the trespassers.
