Low pressure and more unsettled weather from the Atlantic takes hold by close of play on Tuesday.

From midweek expect showers or rain mixed in with drier and clearer spells and stronger winds than of late.

Here's your TYNE TEES forecast for the next few days....

SUNDAY:

Most places will remain dry through the day, with some bright or sunny intervals. Scattered light showers are possible. Temperatures remaining a little below average, but with lighter winds, feeling pleasant in sunny spells. Highs 13°C.

SUNDAY NIGHT:

Isolated light showers will continue overnight, but most places will remain dry with variable amounts of cloud and some clear spells. Another cool night in rural shelter. Lows 3°C.

MONDAY:

It will be another largely dry day with some good sunny spells developing by lunchtime. Just the odd light shower perhaps developing through the day. Remaining a little cooler than average but winds staying light. Highs 14°C.

OUTLOOK:

Settled and dry for much of Tuesday, but cloud slowly building from the west ahead of rain arriving overnight, this heavy at times.

Winds increasing with further rain or showers on Wednesday and Thursday, perhaps occasionally heavy.
