The Endeavour returns for the Tour de Yorkshire

The build up to this year's Tour De Yorkshire cycle race is continuing on Teesside.

The final stage will begin in Middlesbrough on Sunday, May 1.

As part of the celebrations, a huge model of Captain Cook's ship, The Endeavour, has gone back on display at the Cleveland Centre.

The explorer was born in the town.

The model was a family favourite for twenty years before being removed during a major overhaul of the complex. Shoppers are pleased to see it back.

Talks are taking place to decide its longer term future.

Meanwhile, the official Tour de Yorkshire trophy is expected to arrive in Middlesbrough as it taken on a tour of destination's along this year's three stages ahead of race weekend.
