McClaren not thinking about Newcastle defeat
Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren is not thinking about losing to Bournemouth in their Premier League clash on Saturday.
The Magpies are currently 19th in the table and a defeat against Eddie Howe's side at St James' Park would only increase the pressure on the club and the Head Coach.
But speaking ahead of the match, McClaren said he's not thinking about defeat tomorrow afternoon. He said:
The Head Coach also insisted that he and his team have not been affected by "negative comments" about his future in the media. He said:
Newcastle are still without defensive pair Fabricio Coloccini and Chancel Mbemba for the visit of Bournemouth. Andros Townsend is also a doubt after picking up a knock and will be assessed ahead of the game.
However, Siem De Jong is back in the squad after recovering from an eye problem.
A victory over Bournemouth tomorrow would lift Newcastle out of the Premier League relegation zone.
