Funding secured for York Theatre Royal
York Theatre Royal has received a grant of £770,000 from York Council to help fund developments.
York council agreed the four year funding package at its budget meeting.
The theatre say the funding will allow them to manage their budget going forward. It will also help to ensure that the theatre remains sustainable and can continue with its ambitious developments.
The 270-year-old building was bought by York Conservation Trust for £1 from City of York Council last year. The trust are contributing more than £2 million to the current redevelopment of York Theatre Royal.
