Police faced with machetes in Hartlepool drugs raid

Police carrying out a drugs raid say they were confronted with two machetes as they searched a property in Hartlepool on Monday 8 February.

Officers were confronted with the weapons at an address on Mariners Point in Hartlepool at around 12.30pm.

Suspected cocaine and cannabis plus around £3,000 in cash was also seized at the address.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, concerned in the supply of class B drugs and possession of criminal property.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in thesupply of Class A drugs.

Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
