Pop superstars to play Tynemouth Priory

Will Young and Bryan Ferry will play at Mouth of the Tyne Festival in the first week of July

Pop superstars Bryan Ferry and Will Young are set to headline this year's Mouth of the Tyne Festival in July.

The announcement comes as tickets for James Bay, who is also playing as part of the festival at Tynemouth, sold out in less than a week.

Bryan Ferry, born in Washington, Tyne & Wear, had several number one albums as Roxy Music front man and a solo artists including Love is the Drug, Dance Away, Slave to Love and Let’s Stick Together. He will perform on Thursday July 7.

Will Young will perform the following day on July 8. He shot to fame after winning the first series of Pop Idol in 2002. His first studio album From Now On went to number one after selling 187,350 copies in its first week.

The Mouth of the Tyne Festival, now in its twelfth year, has welcomed a vast range of household name artists to North Tyneside including Paul Weller, Beverley Knight, The Script and James Morrison. International street entertainers are once again expected to take to the coastal village to entertain visitors and residents.
