Residents express anger at response to December's floods
Residents in Haydon Bridge who were flooded during Storm Desmond in December have expressed anger at a public meeting that is being held in the town this morning.
The meeting, organised by Hexham MP Guy Opperman, is also being attended by representatives of the Environment Agency and Northumbrian Water.
Residents say they want the River Tyne to be dredged to avoid future flooding, and have suggested that EU directives may prevent dredging from taking place.
The Environment Agency says it has to consider the effect of dredging on houses further downstream.
